The Departed are paying their final home show this Saturday (4th Feb) with original front man Rob Lee. The band recently announced that Rob was leaving after 5 years with the band. The gig is at Grimsby's Matrix Club and is part of a weekender with fellow Grimsby lads Demoraliser, also hitting Newcastle, Manchester and Chatham.

It's a sad day when you hear about a solid pillar of a band announce their departure (no pun intended), especially when it is a band you are close to like The Departed. Well Vocalist Rob Lee has decided to call it a day after 5 years of fronting the band. I remember the first ever gig at The Matrix Club, Grimsby and from there on Rob has been all across Europe representing his band & GY.
Chees for the years Rob, you'll be missed by all! |

Now then, long time now see! I haven't posted around here for quite some time which is a bit embarrassing, but hey, I'm here now!
So what's new? Well Scratched Media is now on Google+, yet another social media outlet that I'll probably never use, but you never know, I might post something exciting there soon, so add Scratched Media to your G+ circles!
The Departed are currently touring Europe and recently played with America's Polar Bear Club! Be sure to keep up with what they are up to over on their Facebook or Twitter.
I'm still trying to write a decent acoustic song and hoping to play anther gig soon. There is also a new band raising from the ashes of Push The Ghost, more news on that as it happens!
This weekend I am going to Manchester to see Frank Turner and Against Me! Should be ace. Videos to follow probably! |

On Friday I went to The Crown in Peterborough for a 10 year reunion show marking the end of Positive Outlook records, a label that put some awesome bands out including a home-grown Grimsby band; STAND.
So Mark and I drove down to watch A Great Notion, The Deadites, Mend This Tear and HHH. It was a great gig which took me back to the days of the early "noughties" so just had to film some of it ( like I did in 2005 for Ben Lane's memorial gig).

Hi all, aint posted for a while so though I might share some videos with you that I shot at the Revival Tour 2011. It was an awesome gig, probably one of the best I have been to in a long time. Playing was Chuck Ragan of (Hot Water Music), Brian Fallon (Gaslight Anthem), Dan Andriano (Alkaline Trio), Dave Hause (The Loved Ones) along with a few backing musicians (check out the double bass!). The tour is a regular thing that Chuck Ragan organises to if you missed it last year I'm sure they will return to the UK next year! Don't miss it next time though!
